Queens World Film Festival

El Condado del Mundo celebra la 6ta edición de su festival cinéfolo. Junto a las películas internacionales -que reflejan la diversidad multicultural de Queens-, el programa (en varias salas) incluye cintas hechas por talento -y con temática- local. Destacan "Julio of Jackson Heights", del director Richard Shpuntoff, sobre Julio Rivera, el joven asesinado en 1990 por ser gay; "Saving Jamaica Bay", de David Sigal, aborda dicha bahía en peligro de contaminación. También habrán películas de cineastas hispanos como "Adrift", de los hermanos David y Francisco Salazar, H.O.M.E, de Daniel Maldonado, "The Inquisition of Camilo Sanz" de John Marco López, los cortos "Infame" de Dennis García, "Oasis" de Carmen Jiménez, entre otras.

With a soulful voice that combines traditional rhythms with the blues, her voice has that unique appeal across borders.
