In celebration of its 30th Anniversary season, Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana, the only USA/NYC based flamenco company to reach such a milestone, comes to The Joyce with a program featuring the finest dancers and musicians from New York and Spain. The artists whose "gypsy voices...coiling wrists...angry feet and curving backs...never fail to entrance an audience" (Village Voice) perform company co-founder Roberto Lorca's signature work Luz y Sombra. Also on the program—new works by the vibrant flamenco dancer and choreographer Angel Muñoz.

A PALO SECO FLAMENCO COMPANY PRESENTS CINCO POR CINCO AT THEATRE 80

A Palo Seco's third New York City season at Theatre 80. Artistic Direction & Choreography by Rebeca Tomas. Musical Direction by Pedro Cortes. A Palo Seco is a New York based Flamenco Company described as "awesomely fiery" (New York Times) and "a feast for the eyes and the ears" (Theater Online). The company has been acknowledged as an up and coming voice in the U.S. Flamenco community for its artistic vision deeply rooted in Flamenco tradition, yet relevant in a modern urban context. They are gaining national recognition, appearing at the 2012 Chicago Flamenco Festival, along with artists such as Raimundo and Diego Amador and at Jacob's Pillow 80th Anniversary Season. Led by artistic director and choreographer, Rebeca Tomas, and musical director Pedro Cortes, their productions feature traditional Flamenco repertoire combined with the company's penchant for an innovative and edgy New York City feel.

TANGO INFERNO: Hasta Enero 23 @TheJoyceTheater

La nueva producción de Tango Inferno estará en el teatro Joyce de Chelsea hasta el 23 de Enero, cuenta con los mejores artistas del tango contemporáneo ("the finest tango artists", Boston Herald) y traza la evolución del Tango desde sus comienzos en el distrito Rojo de Buenos Aires hasta los salones y las fiestas del momento. Los 10 miembros de Tango Inferno estarán acompañados de la banda Quatrotango.


La audiencia está invitada a participar en una Milonga, media hora antes del show... asi que traigan sus zapatillas de ballet o zapatos de danza!
