The World Music Institute brings directly from Bahia, in northern Brazil, this irresistible 25-member troupe known for its explosive drumming, breathtaking dancing and irrepressible energy. This year’s program, Sacred Heritage, was created for the group’s 20th anniversary and features dances in honor of the gods (orixas) of the Yoruban candomblé religion, breathtaking capoeira (martial arts), the maculele warrior dance, exhilarating samba reggae, and the company’s masterpiece, Afixiré (“dance of happiness”). The concert is at NYU Skirball Center. For more info: wminyc.org
