Soledad Barrio, hailed by Alastair Macaulay of the New York Times as “one of the leading dancers of our time,” will return for their 13th season to New York. Joining Ms. Barrio on stage will be two of Spain’s finest dancers Juan Ogalla and Antonio Jiménez plus four musicians – singers Emilio Florido and Miguel Rosendo, and guitarists Salva De María and Eugenio Iglesias.
The company brings a program featuring four world premiere works – El Despertar, two solos (Farruca and Soleá por Bulerías) and a new duet for Soledad Barrio and Antonio Jimenez inspired by Anton Chekhov’s “The Huntsman” – and three repertory works – a reworked Siguiriya solo for Ms. Barrio, a reimagined La Plaza and Esta Noche No Es Mi Día (Today Ain’t My Night).
Hasta Enero 12, 201. Cherry Lane Theater, 38 Commerce Street. West Village.
